The following information is the current plan for Anna District #37. While it will continue to be discussed, we feel that parents/guardians need to be able to make informed decisions regarding their child’s education. We are putting this information out to the community as a guideline of what the learning opportunities will be for our district. Please understand that the recommendations and requirements for schools continue to change frequently and we will update our plans and put out more information as it becomes available.
Anna District #37 will use a blended learning approach for Fall 2020. Students will be given either a RED schedule or a GOLD schedule. We will do the best we can to keep households together. The schedules will look as follows:
Monday – All students participate in remote learning. This day will also be used for packet returns and pick-ups.
Tuesday/Thursday – Students will a RED schedule will attend school in-person. Students with a GOLD schedule will complete remote learning tasks.
Wednesday/Friday - Students will a GOLD schedule will attend school in-person. Students with a RED schedule will complete remote learning tasks.
School will dismiss each day at 1:30 p.m.
Every person in the school building MUST wear a mask/face covering. This is a requirement from ISBE. Students who struggle to wear face coverings due to underlying conditions will be considered on a case by case basis. In some instances, it will be safer for students to participate in full remote learning rather than participating in in-person learning.
While blended learning is an option for each family in the district, families may also choose to participate in remote learning only. This will allow families who have concerns about sending students in person to participate in learning activities at home. Remote learning will not be the same as it was in the spring. We have revamped our remote learning to make it more rigorous and educational for students. Traditional grades will be taken on all activities whether completed through blended learning or remote learning.
Families who choose to participate in remote learning must continue with remote learning for an entire quarter. Families who choose to participate in blended learning will only be allowed to switch to remote learning at the beginning of a new quarter or if an underlying health condition that is documented by a doctor arises. Families will be asked to choose blended learning or remote learning at registration.
Anna District #37 understands that families will have questions about returning to school. All questions regarding blended learning or remote learning should be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org. This will allow members of our planning team to get back to you. Due to the amount of questions we know we will receive, it is possible that we will add answers to your questions on a Frequently Asked Questions post on our webpage.
