October 6, 2020
Dear Anna District #37 students and families,
Due to a staff member’s exposure to COVID-19 and potential other staff exposures, Anna District #37 will be closed beginning tomorrow, October 7, 2020. To protect the health and welfare of our students and staff and allow appropriate time for contact tracing to take place, the district will be closed until at least October 19th. We will continue to monitor the situation and will provide a solid return to learning date for families as soon as possible.
This decision was not made lightly as we recognize the inconvenience and challenges it will cause for families. However, we felt it was the best way to protect the health and welfare of our students and staff as we navigate this unprecedented time together.
In the meantime, we will keep the lines of communication open with families and encourage everyone to practice handwashing, social distancing and wearing a mask in public. Practicing these preventative measures will help keep our students in school, where we know they learn best.
To close, we appreciate your willingness to put your trust in our school district to provide a healthy environment for your son or daughter at school. This is a difficult time for everyone, but we are all doing our best to support our students. As always, please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions.
Dr. Julie Bullard
