This is a reminder that 5th-7th grade academic awards will be tomorrow, 5/16, in the lower gymnasium, at the following times: 7th grade - 8:30, 6th grade - 9:30, 5th grade - 10:30. The awards will be streamed on our YouTube channel as well. 8th grade awards will be included in the graduation ceremony.
This is a reminder that on Tuesday, May 16, 2023, we will have Athletic Awards for all students who participated in a sport at Anna Jr High. This includes Baseball, Softball, Girls and Boys Basketball, 4th, 5th, and 6th grade basketball, Cross Country, Cheerleading, 4th, 5th, and 6th Grade Cheerleading, Volleyball, Bowling, Golf, and Boys and Girls Track. It will start at 6:00 pm in the lower gym.
Attention all 7th and 8th parents and guardians. This is a reminder that all 7th and 8th grade students will be going to the park on Monday, May 15, 2023. The concession stand will be open at the park.
JDRF Kids Walk
As of now, we will be going to the Anna park tomorrow, May 12, to celebrate our fundraising efforts.
Please make sure your child dresses for being at the park most of the day.
Send a lunch, or your child can get a sack lunch from school.
Send extra water!! It will be hot!
Send sunscreen if you have it.
If we get rained out, we will do our celebration on Monday, May 15.

Final graduation meeting tonight May, 2nd at 6:00 pm in cafeteria.
Due to cooler than expected temperatures, we will NOT have any water inflatables for the SEL play days on 5/3 at Davie/Jr. High or 5/5 at Lincoln. Students will not need to bring extra clothes/towels/etc. We will have regular inflatables set up for the students instead.

Successful applicants will be responsible for overseeing maintenance projects, scheduling substitute custodians, maintaining an inventory of tools and cleaning supplies, examining buildings for repair and cleaning needs, and other duties for the District. Bus Driver’s license, HVAC certification, and Asbestos certification or willingness to earn these certifications preferred. Parents/ Guardians of Davie students - the City of Anna has donated trees to any Davie student who would like one. Trees will be distributed to students tomorrow after school. If you do not want your child to take one, please tell them not to. Thank you.
Administration has been made aware of a threat to a specific staff member that was made over the weekend. The Anna PD has been contacted and is handling the situation. It is important to note that disciplinary measures are already in place for the person who made the threat. While the situation continues to be investigated, there is no immediate threat to students or staff members. The safety of our students and staff remains as our top priority and we will continue to work with the local police to ensure our district is safe.
To parents and guardians of any student who was attending Band and Chorus Contest at Carterville High school this evening:
Carterville has CANCELED this evening's contest due to the increased threat of severe weather. We were given the option to go tomorrow morning, but after speaking with the students we know that each group would be majorly impacted by those who are unavailable tomorrow. Students will NOT stay after school, as planned. Sorry for any inconvenience. Thank you.

During school today, a situation arose in which a student made a statement that could be viewed as a threat to student safety. The administration and School Resource Officer immediately began investigating, contacted local authorities, and has handled the situation. There is no immediate threat to student safety. Parents involved have been notified and the District is taking precautionary efforts in order to ensure the safety of our students. Student safety is extremely important to our district and community. Please contact your child’s school office if you have further information regarding any threats to anyone in the district.
This is a reminder that we will have pictures for 4th, 5th, and 6th grade boys and girls basketball and cheerleading tomorrow on Thursday, March 30, 2023.
A big shout out and thank you to the District 37 PTO. Friday night’s spring fling was amazing!!! To see the gyms, cafeterias, and hallways full of excited kids and smiling parents was truly amazing. Thank you for all of your hard work and dedication to our children. The faculty, staff, administration, and board appreciate your efforts.
8th grade parents, we were planning to have another meeting regarding the after graduation celebration on Tuesday, March 28th, 2023 but we have a scheduling conflict. We will now have our meeting on Thursday, March 30, 2023 at 6:00 pm. If you haven’t attended a meeting yet that’s ok come on out and help us plan. Now that we have a graduation date set we can finalize the celebration!
